Read on for a transcript of our sneak peak trailer for the first few episodes of the Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey Podcast.
Talia Franks: Hello and welcome to the Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey Podcast!
Lucia Kelly: I’m Lucia Kelly expert at applied analysis and master of sad head canons and making you cry over things you never knew you even cared about coming to you from Melbourne Australia.
Talia Franks: And I’m Talia Franks, media critic, fanfic enthusiast and extended universe Stan calling in from Boston, Massachusetts. That means we’re on opposite sides of the planet, making the podcast itself very Timey Wimey!
Lucia Kelly: Reminder that time isn’t a straight line.
Talia Franks: It can twist into any shape and as such, this is a fully spoiled podcast.
Lucia Kelly: We might bring things in from later in the show, the comics, the books, or even fan theories and articles.
Talia Franks: With that out of the way, our listeners have got a wibbly wobbly timey wimey collection of episode clips to listen to, so let’s get in the Tardis.
Lucia Kelly: Jackie is a good mum, and she doesn’t get credit. It’s upsetting.
Talia Franks: David Tennant would pass chemistry testing with literally everyone on the planet.
Lucia Kelly: like in the first two episodes, like I’m the Doctor.
I’m so cool. I have a time ship. Let’s go!
Talia Franks: The reason they thought it is racism, but we’ll get there.
Lucia Kelly: Yeah, we’ll get there.
Talia Franks: The way my mother would never.
Lucia Kelly: No, no, no, no. I love Love and Monsters; I am a Love and Monsters apologist. I love that episode. I think it’s,
Talia Franks: I know, I know it’s controversial. I know we have different opinions.
Lucia Kelly: That was a delicious cupcake. I’m ready.
Talia Franks: Dramatic things and sad things make me cry.
Lucia Kelly: Can we talk about that? Can we talk about consent maybe? Cause that’s not okay either.
Talia Franks: Only Doctor Who could make me care about genocidal pepper pot with a squid inside it.
Lucia Kelly: Screw you! Go off in your TARDIS I never want to see you again.
Talia Franks: I’m a bit of a homebody. It’s kind of funny that like Doctor Who, if I was offered a trip in the Tardis, I would probably say no.
Lucia Kelly: I know with the entirety of my being, that going with the Doctor would be a bad idea. I would still go.
Talia Franks: I feel like a lot of times when people talk about, things being products of their time, they sometimes try to use that as an excuse as saying Oh, this was a product of its time, and that’s why it’s okay. But I think the important thing for us to consider and I, I expect you agree is that this was a product of its time. And that was not an okay thing. Even in that time.
Lucia Kelly: Yeah. Yeah.
wait, hold on a minute. Your sonic screwdriver can do what now.
Talia Franks: Oh, my goodness, can we get the acting a six? Like, can we get the acting a seven?
Lucia Kelly: Why are you spitting in breathing on people? Give people houseplants.
Talia Franks: Sidebar. Can we talk about the fact that this is a 2012 without smartphones?
Lucia Kelly: The Doctor’s philosophy is there’s this the concept of if you enjoyed the time, if you felt good during the time, if you were putting effort into something and you genuinely believed that it was the best use of your energy while you were doing it, like that’s not wasted time.
That was you building yourself. That was you making your path. That was you growing as a person. Like all growth is good growth. Cause it means that you can move forward, and you can continue to mature and continue to think about things more complexly. Even if later on, you can be like, Oh, I shouldn’t have done that bit.
You wouldn’t have the knowledge that it was a less informed choice if you hadn’t made the choice. If that makes sense, like all the path, all the journey is significant and all of it is meaningful and none of it is wasted.
